Hydrant Marker Blooming

Fiberglass blooming is the process in which UV rays generated by the sun slowly deteriorate a fiberglass rod’s protective layer. This protective layer does two things, ensures the fiberglass’s flexible and durable properties and protects a handlers hands from the razor sharp fibers.

Fiberglass rods that have bloomed can be hazards not only to handlers but to unknowing pedestrians passing by. Simply brushing across an unprotected rod can leave painful, seemingly invisible splinters. Our repair kit is a cost and time effective method to restore any marker to like-new condition.
